
Dr. Abdul Jabbar
With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, he has also held the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at Mohammad bin Rashid University in Dubai. Prior to his current role, Dr. Abdul Jabbar spent more than 20 years at Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi, where he served as Professor of Medicine & Head of Diabetes & Endocrine Section.
His academic journey began with graduation from Dow University, where he achieved commendable success, earning Gold Medals. Dr. Jabbar furthered his education with a post-graduate certification from the prestigious Royal College of Physicians in London. He also completed specialized Diabetes and Endocrine Training at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London, culminating in the prestigious Fellowship of Royal College of Physicians. Additionally, he dedicated a year to a sabbatical at the University of Sheffield and Northern General Hospital in the UK, enriching his expertise in the field.
Dr. Abdul Jabbar’s contributions to the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology extend beyond clinical practice. He played a pivotal role as a founding member and President of the Pakistan Endocrine Society, leaving a lasting impact on the healthcare landscape. His relentless dedication and expertise have been acknowledged with Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Pakistan Endocrine Society and the South Asian Health Foundation UK, recognizing his significant contributions to Diabetes & Ramadan and Endocrinology.
In addition to his clinical and academic endeavors, Dr. Jabbar is actively engaged as a Journal Reviewer for prestigious publications such as Lancet, Diabetes Research & Clinical Practice, International Journal of Surgery, Journal of Pakistan Medical Association, among others.
