
Dr. Khawar Abbas Kazmi
He received cardiology / Interventional Cardiology training at Western General Hospital,
Edinburgh, UK through a fellowship from Royal College of Physicians-Edinburgh.
He has played a key role in establishing a reputable, comprehensive academic cardiac program at Aga Khan University, Karachi, where he served as Professor and head of Section of Cardiology till 2018.
He has keen interest in CVD prevention and following his passion, he moved to National Institute of Cardiovascular diseases, Karachi in 2018 with mandate to establish Department of preventive cardiology there. He has been secretary of Pakistan Cardiac Society and vice president of Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology. He has over 75 publications in peer reviewed journals and has coordinated various international, multi Centre research projects at national level including INTERHEART, ECLA-GIK,INVICTUS, G-CHF, PURE and ACT-2.
